Twenty Things to Do with a Computer Forward 50 – Future Visions of Education Inspired by Seymour Papert and Cynthia Solomon’s Seminal Work is a recently published labor of love. More than four dozen brilliant educators, inventors, and thinkers contributed essays to a book reflecting on fifty years of practice and celebrating compelling visions for the next half century of education. Gary Stager authored a number of essays and the mother of educational technology, Cynthia Solomon did as well. The book offers something for everyone and was built to endure and inspire for years to come.

Twenty Things is also an excellent text for educational technology and school leadership courses at the postgraduate and undergraduate level.

Part of the book’s mission is to recognize the contributions of Papert and Solomon, while adding other important voices to the historical record. We hope this builds a foundation for future educational progress. To accompany the book’s publication, Gary Stager invited educators to join some of his sheroes & heroes in conversation online. Below you will find videos of those conversations. I trust that you will find the exchange of ideas and memories invaluable, as well as entertaining.

Archival video for those of you who missed the live conversations…

Over the five sessions, readers were able to interact with contributors to the book, including Cynthia Solomon, Dan Watt, Molly Watt, David Loader, Ron Canuel, Yasmin Kafai, Justice Walker, Tom Lauwers, Marian Rosen, Martin Levins, David Thornburg, Heather Pang, and Peter Rawitsch.

Veteran, retired, and new educators from around the world joined the discussions. Now, you can relive those conversations.
