Excited to announce that Constructing Modern Knowledge will celebrate its 15th anniversary July 25 – 28, 2022 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. After a two-year pandemic hiatus, CMK brings a world-class faculty, inspirational speakers, cutting-edge learning-by-doing, to the state-of-the-art Global Center for Digital Innovation in Chattanooga. Quite simply, CMK offers educators unrivaled access to tools, expertise, inspiration, and hard fun.
Rather than spend days listening to a series of speakers, Constructing Modern Knowledge is about action. Attendees will work and interact with educational experts concerned with maximizing the potential of every learner.
While our outstanding faculty is comprised of educational pioneers, bestselling authors and inventors of educational technologies we depend on, the real power of Constructing Modern Knowledge emerges from the collaborative project development of participants.
Thanks to the hospitality of our partner, The Public Education Foundation, CMK 2022 will be held in an incredibly new and well-outfitted fab lab, the Global Center for Digital Innovation. All of our learning activities will occur in a new building, complete with flexible collaboration spaces and drool-worthy cutting-edge hardware tools. When you add traditional craft materials, art supplies, toys, electronic components, microcontrollers, library, and miscellaneous junk, Constructing Modern Knowledge creates a utopian learning environment in which teachers achieve the impossible.
Constructing Modern Knowledge is built upon the Piagetian admonition that “knowledge is a consequence of experience.” If we wish for educators to teach and lead differently, they need to experience learning in the fashion they aspire to for their students.
