Social Activities
Learning is a social activity and Constructing Modern Knowledge offers numerous opportunities to learn inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to socializing with your fellow attendees and faculty over meals or informal chats, exciting social events are being held at this year’s event.
For those of you arriving in Manchester early, there will be a Sunday night welcome get together – 7 PM at the Radisson Hotel – details to be announced closer to the event.
Monday Night Institute Dinner
Included in each registration!
Institute attendees will have the opportunity to nourish their stomachs and their souls over dinner with your new colleagues and Constructing Modern Knowledge faculty.
This year’s dinner will be quite exciting! The Monday night institute dinner will be at Gaucho’s Churrascaria (Brazillian Steakhouse) where the dinner itself is a rich activity. Dinner begins with an enormous salad bar full of fresh fruits, vegetables, Brazilian salads and other culinary surprises. Then side dishes of plantains, papa criolla (baby yellow potatoes), yucca, black beans, and rice are accompanied by a dozen grilled meats, fish and poultry sliced right onto your plate until you say, “Uncle,” or turn your card from the green side to the red side – at least until you get your second (or third or fourth) wind!
Vegetarians will be well-catered for.
Additional tickets for friends and family may be purchased along with your institute registration.

Wednesday Night Out in the Big City – Boston
Included in each registration!
By Wednesday afternoon at 3PM you will have earned a well-deserved break from working on your learning adventures. That’s why we will board a bus and enjoy the hour drive to Boston, one of the world’s great cities, for a night on the town.

The evening in the big city will begin with a reception at FableVision Studios above the Boston Children’s Museum. Join popular children’s author, software developer and animator Peter H. Reynolds (invited), along with his twin brother, Paul and other FableVisionaries.
The night is yours. Explore history, have a great dinner, go dancing, visit museums, take in a show, go shopping, ride a duck, people watch or do all of the above with fellow educators. Meals and other activities are at your own expense, but lots of advice and materials will be shared to help you maximize your 6-8 hours in Beantown.
Additional bus tickets for friends and family may be purchased along with your institute registration.
