CMK 2022 Institute Frequently Asked Questions

Institute pricing and registration

Registration includes four days of the Institute, institute dinner, baseball outing, shuttle bus access, materials, lunch daily, and snacks. Hotel costs are not included.

Registration can be made with credit card or check using our registration site. Credit card is preferred. Checks and POs are accepted – for POs, please use the check option, make a note on the registration form, and send the PO to Sylvia Martinez. Your help in getting the PO through your system is appreciated!

If you need anything out of the ordinary for your school to complete the payment process, just let us know. We will do everything in our power to make it work!

An email confirmation and receipt will be sent to the email address you use to register. Additional information will also be sent to this email address so please use an address you check regularly.

Cancellation fees apply. Since space is limited, there is a non-refundable deposit of $350 for cancellations prior to June 1st and a $600 charge for cancellations after June 1st. Registration may be transferred to another participant.

COVID precautions

All participants must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required. The event will be governed by local, state, or national COVID mandates or policies in place at the time.

If local, state, or national COVID emergency regulations require that the event be cancelled, we will refund 100% of the registration fee.

International guests

If you need wire transfer information or an invitation letter for a visa, please email Sylvia with the request.

Additional guests for social events

During registration, guests can be added to the Institute dinner and the Big Night Out at the Ballpark. The Institute dinner will be Monday, July 28th and is an all-you-can-eat Brazilian churrascaria with a huge salad bar, $45 per guest. The baseball game is Tuesday evening, July 29th at the Chattanooga minor league stadium close to downtown, $20 per guest. This includes the ticket, a slice of pizza or hot dog, and a soft drink.


Location

Chattanooga has its own airport and is an approximately two-hour drive from Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, and Knoxville.

The site of CMK is the new state-of-the-art Global Center for Digital Innovation (GDCI) on the campus of Chattanooga State Community College. The Center is approximately 10 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Free shuttle busses will run in the morning and late afternoon to transport CMK participants from downtown to/from the campus. There is also free parking on-site and the Center is accessible via public bus.

GCDI Parking

There is free on-campus parking at the GCDI.

Hotel accommodation

Blocks of hotel rooms at a special CMK “convention rate” in downtown Chattanooga are available as low as $121 per night. There are also vacation rentals in the area. You may need to walk a short distance to reach the free shuttles. Please ask the hotels if you have questions about cancellation policies or inclusions.

Discounted CMK hotels

Holiday Inn & Suites Downtown – Rates from $129 a night include valet parking and breakfast for two. This link will take you to a booking page. Reservations must be made before July 1, 2022.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chattanooga Downtown – Rates from $121 a night include a parking discount and free wifi. Use this booking link or call (423) 756-5150 and ask for “Constructing Modern Knowledge” for discount. Reservations must be made before June 24, 2022.

Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga Downtown  – Rates from $149 per night include a parking discount. Use this booking link or call the hotel directly at (423) 308-9000.  Provide the front desk the arrival date and group name Constructing Modern Knowledge. Reservations must be made before July 3, 2022.

Air travel

Chattanooga Airport (CHA) features non-stop flights to/from Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, and Dallas serviced by Allegiant, Delta, American, and United Airlines. The airport offers a speedy option just minutes from downtown.
